And blessedly, the action pitched and careened from there with a deft storyteller’s touch. “My place beside you, my blood for yours! Till the Green Ember rises or the end of the world!”
The brief prologue ends with a mysterious, captivating call that echoes throughout the rest of the story. Smith (proprietor of ) is my friend, but even if he were my arch nemesis, I would have been swept into this finely written tale of peril and beauty, treachery and hope.
